Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us

SharpDog™ helps businesses start and maintain one-to-one marketing programs  that give business a 360° view of each of their customers – helping them build long-term relationships that result in brand loyalty.  This policy describes our corporate "Privacy Policy" that applies to this Web site and other information collection practices of our company. When working on behalf of our clients, SharpDog operates in accordance with the relevant client's privacy policies. This privacy policy does not apply to information collected or stored on behalf of our clients.

SharpDog  complies with the Online Privacy Principles and Guidelines for business  practice of the U.S. Direct Marketing Association (www.the-dma.org,) self-regulatory regimes of various direct marketing associations of other nations, and to the U.S. Department of Commerce European Data Protection Directive "Safe Harbor" program. Our company also adheres to The DMA Privacy Promise to the American Consumer and to various laws and regulations that govern privacy and data security.

Any personally identifiable information you provide us – such as your name, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, or postal addresses – may be used, collected or stored by us or our service providers to process any inquiries that you initiate. While you can choose not to provide your personal information, you may limit our ability to contact you or to respond to your inquiry, limiting your ability to take advantage of the many services we offer.

We also may obtain information about you from business partners and add it to information that you have previously provided to us in order to serve you better. We compare our contact lists to lists received from our business partners operating in the name of "SharpDog," to try to avoid sending you unwanted, unnecessary or duplicative messages. Examples of information we receive from other sources include, updated delivery and address information from third parties—which we use to correct our records—and data obtained from our partner companies to confirm or correct information provided by you or to provide us more information about you.

We may receive, use, and store certain types of non-personal information automatically whenever you interact with our website or if you provide it to us upon request or through correspondence with us. Our web server automatically recognizes the name of each visitor's Internet domain. Once a visitor registers at our site, we apply a cookie to the visitor's computer, which the visitor is free to accept or decline. A cookie helps both the visitor and SharpDog by storing information from previous visits (from the visitor's computer), such as areas of interest within our website and password prompts. At this time, no other computer identification tools besides cookies are used. For more information about the use of cookies and other similar technology, you can visit this not-for-profit information site: http://www.networkadvertising.org.

We may also obtain information from visitors indirectly by analyzing their navigation path on our website. We collect aggregate information, or non-personally identifiable information across many different visitors, that indicates which pages of our site visitors access. This information is used to analyze the website's utility, and to determine areas within our site that appear to be of interest to various users. This helps SharpDog better serve our online community.

Please note that SharpDog does not currently use ad serving companies to place banner ads from other firms on our site.  So, there is no tracking by third-party companies from any banner ads, bulletin boards or other interactive venues on this site.

The information provided by visitors to our website is not sold, transferred, or traded to any third party for unsolicited marketing purposes. However, we may share some of this information with other organizations, or companies for which we have a partnering arrangement, in marketing of our own services or a service relationship to support SharpDog operations. We may also share your information to process requests initiated by you. For example, we may forward your “do-not-contact” requests with partner companies operating as SharpDog, in order to fully comply with your request.

As our business grows, we may sell or buy subsidiaries or specific business units. In such transactions, personal information of prospects, customers and website visitors is often one of the transferred assets, but remains subject to any pre-existing Privacy Policy and to any "do-not-contact" list of SharpDog to which you have participated. Also, in the unlikely event that we or all of our assets are acquired, personal information will become part of our transferred assets.

We will also transfer personal information when we believe the transfer is necessary to comply with the law, or to protect our rights or safety, or the rights or safety of our users or others.

Please note: if you have visited our website and have provided us with a postal address, an e-mail address, or a telephone number, a SharpDog representative may contact you. This will happen when you have expressed an interest or a query in a particular product(s) or service need(s).

SharpDog works, in accordance with industry best-practices and applicable law, to keep your information secure. We train our employees to safeguard information in our possession. We maintain policies and procedures covering the proper logical and physical security of workplaces, records, and various other types of information in our systems and on our premises. We require independent contractors and outside companies who work with us to adhere to privacy obligations through their contracts with us. We also use technological means (such as backup files, virus detection and eradication software, firewalls, and other computer software and hardware safeguards) to protect against unauthorized access or alterations to information.

Unfortunately, no data security methodology is 100% safe. Therefore, it is important for you to protect yourself against unauthorized access to your information. You should be sure to sign off and log out when finished using a shared computer, keep your passwords in a secure location, and refrain from sharing your passwords with any third parties.

If you believe we have information about you that you wish to access as a consumer or business individual, please contact us as directed at the foot of this policy. Please note that if SharpDog does not have any of your personal information, we cannot tell you about any non-personal information that we might have about you. In addition, as a service provider to various SharpDog clients, we may hold information about you on behalf of another company. In such cases, we may not provide you requested access to information directly, but you may contact those clients directly for information they may contain about you, or to obtain information regarding their respective privacy policies. In some cases, SharpDog can refer you to the proper client contact (if the client allows us).

Site visitors can receive a copy of all the information that we maintain on them (for example, name, address, phone number). To have a copy sent via e-mail or postal mail, visitors should contact us via the information in the shaded box within this policy.

If you wish to have this information changed, would like to express your preferences on how we communicate with you, or to be removed from our database, please contact us and let us know with your exact name and address using the contact information within this policy.
